FASD
odx-spotlight
The range of effects that alcohol can cause to a baby exposed to alcohol before birth is called Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder or FASD. These effects may include physical, mental, behavioral, and/or learning disabilities. Thousands of babies are born with an FASD each year.
The good news is that FASD is completely preventable. If a woman does not drink alcohol while she is pregnant, her child cannot get FASD.
FASD Mission Statement
To increase awareness of the impact of alcohol-exposed pregnancies, collaborate with agencies to establish resources, coordinate interventions and diagnostic services for families affected by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders.
