Disparities and Cultural Competence (DACC) Advisory Committee
The Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services created a Disparities and Cultural Competence (DACC) Advisory Committee, comprised of staff and external community members, with the goal of eliminating disparities and moving towards health equity. The DACC Advisory Committee developed a plan to ensure that service equity is a priority in the public behavioral health system by 2020. The committee identified the following objectives:
- Identify Core Quality Indicators to effectively track and monitor performance
- Develop a Business Case for cultural and linguistic competency
- Create a Cultural and Linguistic Competence Plan for all human services
- Identify best and promising practices based on lessons learned and develop a promising practice resource bank/learning community
