>>> Employment Opportunity: OhioMHAS Seeking Candidates to Oversee 988 Operations at Department
As part of the work to expand Ohio’s crisis continuum of services and prepare for the transition of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline to the three-digit number 988, the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) is seeking quality candidates for four key new positions to advance these efforts: the 988 Administrator, a 988 Crisis Systems Administrator, a 988 Quality Assurance Administrator, and a 988 Technology Planning Administrator. All four positions will be a part of OhioMHAS’ Office of Community Planning and Collaboration. More information about the first three positions is available at careers.ohio.gov, and the department expects to post the Technology Planning Administrator position next week. We are looking for people who want to contribute and collaborate, serve compassionately, delivery quality, and are accountable to the Ohioans we serve. Please share these opportunities with anyone you think would be an exceptional candidate and addition to the OhioMHAS team.
>>> 2022 (Virtual) Statewide enCompass Training – April 27
RecoveryOhio, Addiction Policy Forum, and OhioMHAS will host a free 2022 Statewide enCompass Training on April 27. This eight-hour training session is virtual and open to all adults who want to learn more about addiction and have the skills to respond. Attendees often include families, friends, caregivers, clergy, law enforcement, first responders, healthcare providers, employers, educators, community-based service providers, and anyone interested in learning how to respond to substance use/co-occurring disorders. Like CPR, the course is designed to build the skills to support and respond to someone who needs help. The training will also help participants navigate the resources available in your own community.
enCompass participants will learn:
- How to identify the signs and symptoms of addiction;
- How to help an individual in need of support;
- The effects of stigma on individuals and families; and
- How to set healthy boundaries and principles of self-care.
All participants receive a certificate at the completion of the course. Click the link above for more information and to register.
