The symposiums are for those working with peers, their families, and allies. As a participant you will be able to do the following:

  • Know the definitions of Secondary Traumatic Stress, Vicarious Trauma, Compassion Fatigue, and Burnout
  • Identify the similarities and differences between the conditions.
  • Review the signs in personal and professional lives.
  • Identify strategies for building resilience and reducing the effects of Secondary Traumatic Stress.

Participants will assess their own STS, learn self-care and early warning strategies and develop a action plan.
