VIRTUAL EVENT DETAILS
Since the walk will be virtual, feel free to walk, run, or jog one mile independently or with friends (social distanced). There is no set timeline to complete your one-mile. The actual “walk” date is September 27, but the event is open from September 21-27 for anyone to share their story on social media.
This is a free event and there is no need to solicit donations. By registering for this free event, you can pick up a t-shirt at the MHRB (1605 CR 1095, Ashland, Ohio) weekdays from 8:00 AM-4:30 PM. We have a limited supply of t-shirts in stock (LAST YEARS STYLE) for early registrants. (NO SIZE 2XL)
If you would like to take the next step, here are a few resources our partners offer:
- The MHRB offers Suicide Prevention training (QPR) at no cost to any group/organization in Ashland.
- MHRB funds a Grievers Support Group for those who've lost a loved one to suicide. People who are interested can contact Appleseed for this service.
- MHRB recently launched a new mobile app called, "Healthy Ashland" with many practical resources to help someone struggling with emotional distress. The app also includes information about crisis services if needed.
- MHRB promotes "Crisis Text Line" which is available 24/7 to anyone struggling with thoughts of suicide or for someone who needs to make a connection and not feel alone. That number is (419) 289-6111.
