The Patient Care System (PCS) is the official system for patient data for the Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services (OhioMHAS). Users include virtually all staff at the regional psychiatric hospitals, including nurses, physicians, pharmacists and administrative staff. A wide variety of information is collected, including admission, discharge, billing, medication orders, legal and other information. Staff at many of the mental health boards sign in to PCS via the Internet to review patient information related to the board’s billing.
These reports provide information to the community boards that is used to assist in monitoring client movement and projecting expenditures related to treating clients at our Behavioral Healthcare Organizations (BHOs). The information on these reports is grouped by board and includes: admissions, discharges, clients onrolls, resident and billed day totals.
