ASAM Criteria and Continuum Overview | June 2016

Description: Ohio Administrative Code Rule 5122-27-06 requires MHAS certified providers of addiction services to assess client level of care utilizing ASAM Criteria. In addition, in January, 2016, ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) released an assessment tool: CONTINUUM, The ASAM Criteria Decision Engine™. CONTINUUM is a computer-guided, structured interview for assessing and caring for patients with addictive, substance-related and co-occurring conditions. NOTE: MHAS certified providers are NOT required to utilize CONTINUUM. Presenters include staff from ASAM, Change Companies and FEI Systems, including David Mee-Lee, MD, FASAM, Chief Editor, The ASAM Criteria and David R. Gastfriend, MD, DFASAM, Chief Architect, Continuum™.

Description: After conducting a series of webinars on the certification standards for community behavioral health providers that are effective April 1, 2016, OhioMHAS staff will conduct a Q&A webinar to answer specific standard questions. The Q&A is for any rule in Ohio Administrative Code Chapters 5122-26, 5122-27, 5122-28 and 5122-29. Providers may submit advance questions during the webinar registration process that will be answered during the webinar. There will be no review of entire rules changes during this webinar. Archived webinars are available on this web page.
