About Prevention and Wellness

The Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) supports the evolution of a modern prevention infrastructure focused on implementing integrated, comprehensive and evidence-based prevention services. Staff members focus on providing training and technical assistance to communities, supporting resiliency in youth and families, and promoting awareness of healthy life style choices for all Ohioans.

The OhioMHAS Office of Prevention and Wellness is comprised of three bureaus: Prevention, Problem Gambling, and Children and Families. However, prevention strategies are also infused within other areas of the organization.
