Gambling Addiction training
Recovery Resources, in collaboration with the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services, presents the 2013-14 Gambling Addiction training series.
Participants will receive CEU's for social workers, counselors, and gambling counselors, and RCH's for chemical dependency and prevention professionals.
Stage 2: Treating the Disordered Gambler
Presenter: Dr. Heather Chapman, Ph. D., NCGC-II-BACC
Treating the Disordered Gambler is a two day training that will provide clinicians with 12 hours of gambling specific education. This phase of training is designed for the clinician preparing to treat disordered gamblers. During this training, clinicians will gain a better understanding of treating gambling addiction through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing techniques. Participants will discuss case reviews, participate in role plays, and write treatment plans. Participants will also discuss disordered gambling as a co-occurring disorder.
Prerequisite: Foundations in Disordered Gambling or previous gambling counseling training
Credit: 12 CEU's, RCH's and NCGC hours
(Price increases to $50 if payment is not received 10 days prior to the training)
