The Multi-Agency Community Services Information System (MACSIS) is an automated payment and management information system for mental health services.  It is a collaborative effort of OhioMHAS and community boards. The combined outpatient payment information system compiles behavioral health care services for both Medicaid paid and non-Medicaid paid services.

HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996)
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996 is a federal law impacting both consumers and providers of health care services. These links include general information regarding the HIPAA, the OhioMHAS MACSIS HIPAA privacy notice, and information about The National Provider Identifier (NPI), a unique health care provider number used to distinguish individual practitioners or provider organizations during standard electronic health care transactions.    

ACT/IHBT: New Service Information
Information related to MACSIS and billing for Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) and Intensive Home-Based Treatment (IHBT) services.


To facilitate communications about issues related to MACSIS, the Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services is sponsoring several e-mail listservs. The Board listserv is "private" and is open to Board staff and MACSIS-related State staff only.
